I will try to put the strenghs of ELISA which fully or partly cant be applicable with WB.ġ-in ELISA one can do competion studies (peptides etc) and interaction studies (proteins etc), but not in WB.Ģ-ELISA takes less time than WB and consumes less antibody.ģ- cell based ELISA is important for receptor recognition, but not WBĤ-ELISPOT is used in cytokine production, but not with WB (WB-SPOT? )ĥ- Immuno PCR highly sensitive technique in ELISA format but not in WB.Ħ- epitope mapping can be performed with ELISA, not with WB.ħ-ELISA is amazingly useful in screening techniques (eg-phage display technology, Monoclonal and polyclonal antibody production), where WB cant be used.
